About

Climate Frontiers brings current climate research out of the laboratory and into communities across Europe. Our aim is to reach audiences not only in major cities but also in smaller towns and rural communities.

Once a month, an active researcher presents their work in a lecture streamed live from Dokk1 in Aarhus to venues across Europe, including libraries, cinemas, cultural centres, schools and more.

Lectures take place on the last Thursday of every month, from 19:00 to 21:00. Tickets are sold for 5,00 EUR on this website.

Every lecture is grounded in peer-reviewed climate science. Audiences hear directly from the researchers themselves, and the content is presented with its full scientific depth.

Climate Frontiers also seeks to offer researchers a meaningful platform for their work. A share of every ticket goes directly to the researchers who present, and as the platform grows, so will this contribution.

Each lecture is accompanied by a limited-edition art print, created in collaboration with an artist and inspired by the evening's topic. You will find the artwork under products.

Bringing climate research to the public is only possible through strong partnerships. Each of our partners contributes to advancing the climate agenda in its own way. If you are interested in becoming a partner, please see the Contact page for further information.

  • iClimate. Climate Frontiers works with iClimate, Aarhus University's interdisciplinary climate centre, on connecting with researchers. iClimate brings together the natural, social, health and engineering sciences and the humanities to support a fair transition to more sustainable societies, a vision we share in bringing climate research to the public.

  • EEA. Climate Frontiers works with the European Environment Agency (EEA), which acts solely as a knowledge partner. The EEA is the EU agency that provides reliable data and analysis on the state of Europe's environment and climate, supporting European policy and informing the public, a mission we share in bringing climate research to audiences across Europe.

Climate research is advancing continuously in laboratories and field sites across Europe. Climate Frontiers exists to ensure that this knowledge reaches the public, regardless of where people live, and that audiences can engage with it directly.

Venues of all sizes, from local libraries to larger cultural institutions, are welcome to become host venues. Further information is available on the Contact page.
